Pipeline Safety Enhancement Program (PSEP)

SDE provided subsurface utility mapping and surveying services for project areas as identified by Sempra Energy as gas line replacement and/or testing sites throughout San Diego County.

SDE performed utility mapping per the ASCE Standard Guideline for Collection and Depiction of Existing Subsurface Utility Data, version CI/ASCE 38-02, for preparation of construction drawings to be used by the gas designers.

SDE has mapped over 20 miles of utility corridors for the project. Seven miles of line has been constructed in 2014, with no major misfortunes of hitting or damaging a utility line, which won an award by APWA Utility Project of the Year. Our work included record research of existing and future facilities within the public right-of-way, mapping of all record information, coordination with subsurface utility field investigations and surveying crews to acquire sufficient information to map all utilities and structures for the design engineer.

We also provided construction staking and as-builts for the new gas pipeline.
