Jamul Casino

San Dieguito Engineering (SDE) provided professional land planning, civil engineering, and construction surveying services for the Jamul Casino, formerly known as “Hollywood Casino” in Jamul, from inception through construction. The casino includes a three-story gaming and entertainment facility of approximately 200,000 square feet, featuring over 1,700 slot machines, 50 live table games, multiple restaurants, bars and lounges and an enclosed below-grade parking structure with approximately 1,800 spaces on 6.2 acres. The project created an estimated 2,500 construction and permanent jobs in the area.

SDE assisted in the preparation of a comprehensive and rigorous environmental review. There were significant changes to the design of the facility to incorporate local community input, including significantly reducing its height and footprint. Visually, the facility features an earth-tone color palette and downcast lighting to integrate with and complement the surrounding area.

We provided assistance with initial land planning for the casino, all site grading plans, improvement plans including onsite roads, coordination of onsite reclaimed water and wastewater treatment facilities, on-site fire protection measures, stormwater management and coordination of the location of power facilities from SDG&E.

SDE provided assistance with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Pacific Region for Tribal Transportation Facilities for access through non-trust lands owned by the Tribe and the County of San Diego.
