2019 Nomination Letter from North San Diego SBDC

SDE has worked with the SBDC almost a decade ago when SDE began pursuing public works. Ms. Aguilar is an avid supporter of the SBDC program and highly recommends their services to all small business owners wanting to do work with the government.

Ms. Aguilar is very involved in California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Small Business Council and serves on not one but three committees in District 11 and Statewide. She is respected and revered for her success, knowledge and determination to provide opportunities for minority small businesses. Ms. Aguilar co-created an annual industry event, “Meet the Subs” for District 11 pairing qualified small businesses with large firms seeking their professional services. This event was extremely successful. Caltrans is now introducing “Meet the Subs” statewide.

The Awards Ceremony was streamed live on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 on YouTube. Ms. Aguilar can be seen at the 50th second receiving the award.
