San Diego International Airport – Taxiway B

SDE conducted a comprehensive survey and mapping project, which included tying visible valves, manholes, vaults, airfield lighting, and signage, as well as dipping accessible drainage structures and manholes. A natural ground survey of infield areas was performed at 50-foot intervals, including grade breaks to determine drainage patterns. Detailed survey results were incorporated into AutoCAD, showing the location of key features. The project also involved providing Quality Assurance field reviews, producing a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) of the combined surveys, and ensuring all pavement grades were measured to the nearest hundredth of a foot. The final AutoCAD file was developed according to SAN CADD standards and HNTB's specifications, complete with a stamped survey control plan and provisions for additional topographic items as needed.
