Patricia Urquiza was named a finalist for San Diego Business Journal ’s 2019 CFO of the Year Awards. All finalists were featured in San Diego Business Journal March 11, 2019 issue, Page 25. The CFO of the Year was announced at the SDBJ event on March 28, 2016 at Hyatt Regency La Jolla Aventine.

“More than 16 years of dedication to the financial success of her firm makes Patricia Urquiza a candidate for CFO of the Year,” said Ms. Kathy David, President & CEO of IT TechPros, the person who nominated her.

Urquiza is CFO of San Dieguito Engineering, a civil engineering firm in Solana Beach with 17 employees. Ms. David describes her as an outstanding professional and CFO who is smart, savvy and a positive force for her employer. Accomplishments for 2018 included completing an IT project that improved and upgraded the company’s accounting systems, and by extension accounting processes. Creative planning and implementation helped reduce spending on the system.
