Exciting news! As the lead consultant, SDE is proud to secure all required planning entitlements for the construction and operation of a new two-story, 11,430 square foot Kiddie Academy childcare facility, with an additional 12,578 square feet of outdoor play area, from the City of San Marcos Planning Commission, on July 5, 2022. 

The vacant project site is located on 1.61 acres within the 100-year flood plain, and required a Conditional Use Permit, as well as a Mitigated Negative Declaration. 

SDE implemented innovative solutions to design the site plan with difficult engineering and biological constraints, minimizing environmental impacts. SDE worked with the City of San Marcos to agree to improve reasonable and fair public improvements to sites street frontage, which adds to the quality of this project and  the community.  The project has moved directly into the Construction Document Phase for final grading and building permit approvals.  We are excited to see this project from beginning through to construction!
